Campground Review - River Bend County Park (Oregon)

River Bend County Park is within the Linn County Park system in Oregon. Once you get off I-5, the drive is easy and relaxing as you get the chance to drive through some cute, small towns.

Our Bighorn is 37' long and includes slide-outs on both sides. When we make reservations, we need to be very aware of the dimensions of campsites. The sites at River Bend are amazing! (See Map)

Our trailer fits perfectly in the sites on the left side of the park (highlighted in green). The camp sites on the right side of the park (highlighted in yellow), are bit smaller, which are great for RV's with slides on just one side. River Bend created their sites with privacy in mind. Not only is there a nice amount of space in each site....there are mature trees between each site! The angled sites are laid out in such a fashion that you are not looking directly right at your neighbor.

A bonus: The park also offers cabins to rent, in case you have some friends that don't own an RV and want to be part of your camping adventures.

Shown below is site F1 (one of our favorites)...it is 60 feet long with water and 30/50 amp service. The one thing to note...none of the sites at River Bend have sewer connections. There is a single dump station within the park, which is close to the exit/entrance.

The thee images below are from our trip in October 2017. The forecast for the weekend was 4-6" of rain over the weekend...and they were not kidding. It rained and rained and rained some more...but we loved it. When there was a break from the rain, we quickly headed out for a walk around the park and along the Santiam River.

You can see the rushing river flowing above its banks in the third picture above. Just to show you the difference between Fall and Summer, below are a few pictures of the same river in August. You can see rocks and the river was easily accessible.

Another bonus: 10 mins from the campground is a nice local restaurant...."The Point". We enjoy their breakfast menu and the staff is very friendly. Bring your appetite though..... as the portion sizes are huge.
