La Pine, Ore. – Forest Service employees discovered a large sinkhole near a campground on Wickiup Reservoir over the weekend.
The 10-foot by 12-foot hole is about 4 1/2 feet deep.
“Be aware this is highly unstable ground,” said Gregg Garnett, manager of the Bureau of Reclamation’s Bend Field Office. “The immediate area around the hole could possibly collapse as well.”
